Heucheraholics - for the hopelessly addicted - Heuchera, Huecherella, Tiarella specialists

Jooles and Sean have been in the business of growing plants for decades. In recent years they have become consumed by a passion for Heucheras.

Jooles explains in her own words her story so far:

I went into horticulture way back in the dark ages in 1976 ( the year of the plague of ladybirds!!)
It started on leaving school and doing one of those wonderful apprenticeship schemes with Hillier Nurseries in Romsey.
Following that a year at Merrist Wood learning how to identify dead branches in winter and how to bleed a tractor!
All good stuff; then onto the botanic Gardens in Dublin(Glasnevin) to learn how Irish horticulture works.
Back in Blighty; back to Hillier Nurseries for a while, Then a couple of years looking after an 8 acre garden and veg plot -
Then onto the Ist taste of being self employed -selling plants on the market!! (I know, but it was a good learning curve and very good fun!)
After that a couple of years running a tree and shrub Franchise at a local garden centre.
Then came being a partner in a wholesale nursery growing millions of Herbs and Alpines to the Garden Centre trade.(Yes I mean millions!!)

Finally got bored with the numbers and left to start small nursery with intent to find something to specialise in--
That was the start...........

and, in Jooles own words here's Seans story:

On returning from South Africa for a while after running resturants he decided he needed a new challenge!
So Jooles offered him the chance of a lifetime to learn a new career in 10 weeks!! (Jooles is very patient..)
He loved it - he got his first radio interview with Pippa the very first time he went out to a show on his own!!
He loved the growing bit and between Jooles and Sean they started to have lots of fun at shows-
Looking for fun ways to display their plants hopefully without upsetting too many folks!
Whilst always maintaining the importance of growing good healthy plants to sell and offering good advice and a bit of leg pulling!
