I have been converting my garden over the last three years to specifically attract bumble bees so I bought three of these for a pot outside the kitchen door (north facing) in 2016. They are absolutely as described, with usually 3 or 4 bumblies on the flowers at one time. They actually get quite a lot of sun in the morning and again in the early afternoon - I assume this counts as partial shade. They are thriving. A highly recommended plant.
I have to admit I bought this plant because Thomas is the name of my grandson; I hadn't realised what a treat I was in for this year! It has performed brilliantly, the tall waving flower spikes a talking point- they are indeed 60cms tall, covered in flowers, the bumble bees have been in attendance every day . It is happily growing in a South facing border, and even when not flowering the foiliage is very attractive.
